Naturopathy
Naturopathy is a holistic approach to wellness based on the concept that the body has an innate ability to heal itself. The focus is on identifying the root cause of illness specific to each individual.
Naturopathy uses clinical diagnosis, detailed case taking, and functional pathology testing to help determine the individual needs of the patient.
Treatments may incorporate evidence based herbal medicine, clinical nutrition, diet and lifestyle modifications, homeopathics, and flower essences.
The goal of naturopathy is restoring balance and preventing disease, to help you feel your best. Our clinic is located in Northcote, a very short distance from Brunswick, Brunswick East, Thornbury and Fitzroy.
The six naturopathic principles
Treat the whole person
Recognising that our being functions as a closely interconnected whole, integrating physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual aspects.
Identify and treat the causes
Looking for the root of the symptoms, buried in even the deepest of places. These causes are unique to each person.
First do no harm
Employing the most natural, least toxic, and least invasive methods of treatment.
Doctor as teacher
Educating each person to have the tools and daily habits necessary to control and sustain their wellbeing.

What can you expect from your naturopathic appointment?
Before you come to your initial consultation
You may be sent an intake form via email. Please attach to email or bring along any tests or scans you have had done within the last 2 years, and any medications or supplements you are currently taking or have very recently taken.
During your consultation
A detailed case is taken where we discuss your goals for your health, your health history, and your current eating and lifestyle habits. Physical exams may be performed if necessary.
We then discuss a manageable treatment strategy, and you may be referred to other modalities or pathology testing if indicated.
After your consultation
You will be sent the agreed personalised prescription for your reference. A review appointment will be suggested for 1-4 weeks time, depending on what is required for you. Some conditions are quick to resolve, and others need more time and attention.
